Question: Who is/Was Jacob: what significance did he have on the future of humanity? Why “him” and not someone else?
Taking your “why him” first, because Almighty God Chose him in the line of Abraham and Isaac; and he was to produce the “12 Tribes of Israel”!
The name ”Israel”, although commonly used at present in the world, will not apply spiritually/de-facto, until the Tribes have acknowledged and accepted Christ Jesus as Messiah; which will not happen until the stage is reached of Zech.12:10! See Gen. 32: 24–30!
As regards the future of humanity; after the Zech.12:10 stage, the Millennial will progress, into the events of Rev. 20–21!
